COVID-19: Rules for Wearing & Cleaning Watches
As the coronavirus continues to spread across the globe, we are reminded to wash our hands more than ever. The World Health Organisation recommends spending 20 seconds thoroughly cleaning your hands using soap and water or an alcohol-based hand sanitiser.
However, there is more to it than clean hands. It is widely known that the cornavirus can survive on plastic and stainless steel for up to 72 hours. Therefore, it is vitally important that you remove your watch, fitness tracker and any other jewellery, and clean them too. Follow these simple steps:
1. Remove your watches and any other jewellery before washing your hands.
2. Wash your hands following the guidelines.
3. Wash your watch and jewellery separately, using soap and warm water (assuming your watch is suitably water-resistant). If you are concerned about damaging your watch with water, then clean it carefully and thoroughly with a surface wipe or similar, or consider not wearing it for the time being.
